  • 1/2medium head (about 1 pound) red cabbage, cored and cut into 2-inch chunks
  • 3tablespoons lemon juice OR 1/4 cup sherry vinegar
  • Kosher salt and ground black pepper
  • 1bunch flat-leaf parsley, leaves and tender stems (about 4 cups)
  • 1 1/2cups walnuts, toasted and chopped OR 1 cup pumpkin seeds, toasted and roughly chopped
  • 3scallions, thinly sliced OR 1/2 cup golden raisins, roughly chopped OR both
  • 3tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2teaspoon ground allspice
