Memorial Day Favorites

Does it get much better than a three day weekend? What do you guys have planned for this Memorial Day, and the long weekend that accompanies it? Are you headed up to the cabin, looking forward to time at the lake with friends and family? Perhaps you’re about to hit the tarmac for a little vacation. Or maybe you’re planning on doing nothing more than relaxing at home this weekend, which I must say, is something I always look forward to.

However it might be that you’re celebrating this weekend and remembering those who have served in our armed forces, one thing is certain: Memorial Day weekend calls for some good ol’ grillin’ and all-American food!

So, in honor of Memorial Day, I thought a recipe round-up was in order. I’ve collected some of my favorite jaw-dropping, delicious, all-American recipes for you guys and I hope you try them out this weekend! I’ve broken it down into burgers, dogs, and sides- aka the musts.

Burgers

If you’re looking for something fresh that still contains all the richness that is expected in a burger, then this BLT Burger with Roasted Garlic Mayo and Avocado by Chew Out Loud has your name written all over it. Crunchy lettuce, sweet roasted garlic and bacon is a hard combo to beat. You could easily make the aioli a couple of days in advanced, it will only get better the longer it sits!

Or perhaps you have some hungry meat eaters in your family, whose tastebuds aren’t quite satisfied by lettuce, avocado and tomatoes. If that’s the case, then you must try this Chili Crunch Burger by Kings Hawaiian. From the chili to the Fritos, this burger screams all-American. Jalapeños make this burger fresh and spicy, while the chili and pepper jack cheese add depth of flavor. And I can guarantee you no one is going to complain about Fritos sitting on top of their burger. #CRUNCH

If you’re looking to spice things up a bit, try these Chili Lime Baked Potato Chips by Diethood. Baking them eliminates the extra fat from frying, but flavor is not hindered thanks to a spicy blend of cumin, cayenne and chili powder.
